Welcome to Mar Achlais Guest House in Loch Lomond National Park, the Centre of Scotland
Peter and Glennys Nichols extend a warm welcome to all at their 3 Star quality assured guesthouse. Mar Achlais is a detached family home, built in the early 1930's, in the traditional Scottish style of Black & White. Whilst the facilities have been upgraded to modern standards, most of the original timber and features have been retained as this is what Glennys and I love about the place.
Mar Achlais is situated 2 miles from Drymen, in the midst of the Clan Buchanan area of Scotland, in the wee hamlet of Milton of Buchanan. We are close to the 'Bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond' and are also near to the West Highland Way long distance footpath.
We have two spacious bedrooms available and there is also a guest lounge/ dining room. We offer discount to Triple A and A.A.R.P. members on production of your membership card.
Here the Scottish Highlands & the Lowlands meet at the Highland Fault Line.

Loch Lomond is world renowned for its beautiful mountain scenery, its islands, forests and awe inspiring tranquility.
The village of Drymen is the Gateway to the Eastern Banks of Loch Lomond, which is the quieter side of the Loch. In and close to our area there are plenty of places to visit, to eat and to make merry (Pubs).
If you like the outdoor life then you will find many activites to suit you in our area. As well as the magnificent scenery, we have excellent golf, fishing, boating, sailing, wind surfing and horse riding to mention just a few of the available activities.
The area is steeped in history. It is Clan Buchanan country. Rob Roy McGregor was a "Local" and this is the area of his famous (or infamous) exploits against the Duke of Montrose.
